On January 22, Zhou Yijun, Party Secretary and General Manager, and Chen Jianqiu, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Electric Tool Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SETRI”), led the Industry Development Department, the Marketing Operations Department and Digital Intelligence Center Team to visit Jiangsu Dongcheng Power Tools Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Dongcheng Company”). The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on standardization development, testing compliance, digital laboratory management, and smart production line layout, and formally signed an annual strategic cooperation framework agreement. During the meeting, both sides comprehensively reviewed the achievements of their cooperation from 2023 to 2025 and engaged in pragmatic discussions on the direction for coordinated development over the next three years. The meeting focused on practical discussions on core topics including intelligent upgrade, cost competitiveness, safety certification, and AI applications, and the two sides clarified the strategic path for jointly promoting high-quality industrial development in the next phase.

Meeting Consensus: Digitalization and intelligent are inevitable choices for manufacturing upgrading.

Both sides agreed that digitalization and intelligence are not only critical to improving production efficiency but also the cornerstone for enterprises to achieve product iteration and maintain advantages in large-scale manufacturing. A shared consensus was reached that “Without automation, true upgrading cannot be achieved”. Meanwhile, both sides emphasized that laboratory digitalization serves as a critical foundation for improving testing efficiency, ensuring data accuracy and driving product compliance.

A series of concrete action plans were defined at the meeting:

- Equipment Upgrading: Promote the transition of critical testing scenarios from manual to machine simulation and automated execution to enhance the consistency and traceability of test results.

- Intelligent Interconnection: Establish a unified data platform to enable real-time collection, analysis and feedback of experimental data, providing support for product optimization and compliance certification.

- Co-construction of Standards: Both parties attach great importance to the restoration and advancement of mandatory certification for power tools in response to industry dynamics. The implementation of relevant standards will further elevate industry thresholds, promote market standardization, and enable compliant and high-quality enterprises to gain more pronounced market advantages.

- Comprehensive Collaboration: Moving forward, both sides will deepen cooperation in product certification, testing technologies, and joint R&D, advancing the implementation of digital laboratory management and intelligent testing scenarios.
